Situated in the 1882 heritage listed building at 58 Rue Lavaud (previously Akaroa Pharmacy). Peninsula Trading Post services the needs of both local Akaroa residents and regular visitors. Stocking a wide variety of Hardware, Electrical, Garden Supplies and much more, hence the French name La Quincaillerie which translates as "Small store that sells everything". 

Jamie Stewart is the third generation to run a business from the building after his father R.E. Stewart (Chemist) and Grandfather R.S.C. Stewart (Chemist) going back to the 1930's. Jamie grew up above the store and has many fond memories of helping out in and around the incredible old chemist shop. "Dad had a reputation of stocking a diverse range of items and I am determined to regain that reputation" said Jamie.
